Bele Chere, Asheville’s local music festival, held in July, is a three day festival street party. The Biltmore offers summer evening concerts on the South Terrace, with the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Moogfest offers three days of music features three days of music, exhibitions, films, workshops and discussions celebrating the spirit and vision of Bob Moog. Moutain Oasis Electronic Music Summit will host a three-day music festival downtown with a vision to celebrate the creative spirit of musical exploration and spark innovation. The Brevard Music Festival offers classical music, while the Downtown After Five movement offers locals music-filled Friday evenings, including Jazz, blues and rock. The Festival of Native Peoples features culture with music and dance from many tribes, while Folkmoot USA offers global sights and sounds from over 350 performers from nearly a dozen countries. Mountain Dance and Folk Festival offers sounds of banjo, fiddle and dulcimer along with traditional dance, while Shindig on the Green features bluegrass music. Finally, Singing on the Mountain offers the oldest ongoing old-time gospel convention of its kind along the Appalachians.
