Sea Rocket Bistro Chooses SeatMe for a better front of house restaurant management system, accessible anywhere, that makes managing their restaurant easier.

SeatMe, a leading provider of online restaurant reservation software and table management software that helps restaurants fill more tables, announced today that Sea Rocket Bistro in San Diego, CA, has selected SeatMe for a complete restaurant management and online reservations solution. Sea Rocket Bistro switched to SeatMe from OpenTable at the end of May. When evaluating their online reservation and table management service provider options, they found that only SeatMe offers a full suite of additional features that exceeds OpenTable’s feature-set, at a more competitive price. Compared against OpenTable competitors, SeatMe also came out ahead for its combination of reservation and walk-in management.

SeatMe offers Sea Rocket Bistro several advantages over OpenTable and OpenTable alternatives. First and foremost, restaurants like Sea Rocket Bistro benefit from much lower costs: SeatMe charges a flat ninety-nine dollars per month, with a generous fourteen day SeatMe free trial period, and without any cover fees or added charges. By comparison, OpenTable costs between several hundred and thousands of dollars per month, depending on the size of the restaurant. Sea Rocket Bistro is also freed from any long-term contracts or hardware fees.

All they need is Web access to manage their restaurant from anywhere, and from as many places as they’d like, which turned out to be their favorite feature. There are no additional fees for accessing the reservation books from multiple places, which isn’t the case for other restaurant reservation solutions.

In a blog post announcing the switch from OpenTable, Sea Rocket Bistro said, “A major bonus to our business will be that we can check and make reservations ourselves on-line without having to be at the restaurant physically, which allows us to book large parties, confirm reservations, revise table layouts, and tweak our staffing for the night if necessary at any point during our work day.”

Beyond cost savings, SeatMe provides Sea Rocket Bistro a few additional features not found on OpenTable: namely, the ability for Sea Rocket to text walk-in diners when their table is ready, allowing them to grab a drink at the bar or walk around the neighborhood while they wait for a table. These diners then get added to the restaurant’s electronic guest book, where their dining history, preferences, and allergies may be saved for future visits. Adding these walk-in diners to the guestbook is key to creating a customized, VIP-like experience for every diner.

SeatMe also frees up time for the hosts at Sea Rocket Bistro: now they can confirm reservations via text message, rather than calling every diner individually, as would be necessary with most other solutions.

What’s more, if Sea Rocket Bistro ever wants to host a prepaid meal, like a Valentine’s Day dinner, SeatMe can handle that, too, without any additional software or cost. This additional flexibility -- which adds some predictability to a restaurant’s finances and menu planning -- is only available with SeatMe.

All of this additional functionality is built on top of SeatMe’s core service, which enables restaurants to take online restaurant reservations twenty-four hours a day, from their website, mobile phones, and

Unlike other restaurant wait-list management and online reservation tools, SeatMe doesn’t charge any additional fees per seated diner or for added features. Everything is included in the flat monthly fee of $99, with no contract, and all restaurants have a full two weeks to try the service for free.

Setup is also a breeze, and it only takes a few minutes. Restaurants like Sea Rocket Bistro can sign up and start accepting reservations in time for their next service.

“Sea Rocket Bistro has its own loyal customer base, and they shouldn’t be charged when their regular diners decide to return,” said Alexander Kvamme, SeatMe CEO. “What’s more, they should be allowed to manage their restaurant wherever and whenever they’d like, without incurring additional fees. These are just two reasons we built SeatMe, and we’re thrilled to be working with Sea Rocket Bistro and so many similar restaurants.”
