“Grid Dynamics has grown more than 50 percent each year since inception, and our customers entrust us with helping them undertake truly transformational projects," said David Gimpelevich, president and general manager.

Grid Dynamics, the leading provider of custom scalable ecommerce technology solutions and pioneer of enterprise clouds, announced an expansion of its executive staff, signaling the 7-year-old fast-growing company’s exit from its successful startup phase.

David Gimpelevich, chosen by Grid Dynamics founder and CEO Victoria Livschitz as her successor, has been named president and general manager. Livschitz will step up to a role as executive chair of the board of directors, while her primary focus shifts to the new startup she founded and leads, Qubell (see related press release on Qubell’s emergence from stealth mode).

Also joining the Grid Dynamics executive team are Scott Jenkins, named chief operating officer (COO), and Chris Munson, the company’s chief financial officer (CFO). Oleg Kulikov was promoted from within the company to vice president of engineering.

“I look forward to working with Victoria to take Grid Dynamics from an emerging leader in ecommerce development services to the go-to provider of advanced omnichannel solutions,” said Gimpelevich. “Grid Dynamics has grown more than 50 percent each year since inception, and our customers entrust us with helping them undertake truly transformational projects. Building on this success will mean offering our customers complete solutions and extending the innovation and engineering excellence for which we are known into comparable excellence in end-to-end program management and technology operations.”

“Grid Dynamics has proven itself an innovator and trailblazer uniquely positioned to lead customers in their transition toward next-generation omnichannel, massively scalable, analytics-driven, social-ready open ecommerce platforms,” said Livschitz. “Our decision a couple of years ago to focus on the ecommerce segment sparked tremendous growth in the company, and now it’s time for Grid Dynamics to take the next big step in its evolution, with a leadership team specializing in the management of growth-oriented midsize and larger companies. As for me personally, I look forward to continuing my strategic involvement with Grid Dynamics while also having more time to immerse myself in my next venture.”

Grid Dynamics is recognized as a world-class leader in five technology areas crucial for next-generation ecommerce companies: product search; big data, real-time analytics and personalization; massive scalability; continuous delivery and release automation; and cloud enablement. The company was one of the early proponents of and contributors to OpenStack technology, and it was named Gartner Cool Infrastructure Vendor for 2011.

In its next phase of growth, Grid Dynamics plans to invest aggressively in sales and marketing, expand its portfolio of reusable solutions and increase investments in R&D.
