Three legal professionals from Manchester have completed the 26.2 mile Virgin London Marathon and raised money for Headway UK, a leading brain injury charity.

Nina Ramsden, a Director at Jefferies Solicitors, managed a respectable 4 hours and 4 hours 59 minutes and her sporting colleaugues, Deborah Adams and Suzanne Mason achieved 6 hours, 13 minutes and 5 hours, 17 minutes, respectively.

Team Jefferies have so far £4,389.75 (including gift aid) from their efforts.

Although the Virgin London Marathon has become increasingly popular over recent years, with over 36,000 participants, the endurance and stamina required for the race has not lessened.

Nina, is no stranger to running and trained before the event with her local running team. She also took part in the Great Northern Run last year.

Although the Jefferies runners didn’t quite match the current London Marathon record of 2 hours, 2 minutes and 4 seconds achieved by Kenya’s Emmanuel Mutai, they are pleased with their efforts.

Nina said: “We survived anyway – having a few problems walking but otherwise fine! It was a great day and brilliant atmosphere.”

The marathon event run by Jefferies Solicitors forms part of several Headway UK fund raising events this year as the firm has the duty of being the chief organisation responsible for raising funds over a 12 month period.

Jefferies has a particular affinity with the charity as its legal professionals meet brain injury victims and their families regularly. The broad and diverse effects of brain injuries mean there are a lot of resources required to help people who have been affected by a brain injury.

About Headway UK
Headway UK is a registered charity which provides a range of services to help all kinds of brain injury sufferers, from local support groups and national helplines to lobbying parliament for greater statutory resources available in the health care system.
