HiSoftware Security and Compliance Solutions Now Offer Full Support for SharePoint 2013 Environments

HiSoftware’s Sheriff offerings allow organizations to be social while maintaining the underlying principles of compliance and security into today’s collaborative environment.

HiSoftware, a leading provider of compliance and security solutions for SharePoint, today announced that the HiSoftware Sheriff suite of solutions will now offer full support and integration with SharePoint 2013 to audit and secure content, documents and social interactions on the platform.

HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff® SP and HiSoftware Security Sheriff™ SP will both fully support SharePoint 2013 to help organizations to automate and enforce governance policies, as well as track and secure sensitive and regulated content at the item level to mitigate risk without hindering collaboration.

“SharePoint 2013 has made enterprise social easier than ever to implement, offering tremendous business process and productivity benefits,” said Jeff Willinger, social computing strategist at Rightpoint. “However, companies also need to have solutions in place to ensure governance requirements are met, especially in heavily regulated industries. HiSoftware’s Sheriff offerings allow organizations to be social while maintaining the underlying principles of compliance and security into today’s collaborative environment.”

Protection for All Content, from Files to Forums

All of the product functionality provided to SharePoint 2010 on-premise and mobile users will be available in SharePoint 2013, as well as support for claims-based authentication. In addition to managing content at rest and in motion on the platform, the HiSoftware Sheriff Suite can also monitor and protect social communication in SharePoint 2013 including MySites, TeamSites, discussion forums and wikis to ensure communications comply with regulatory standards, privacy and HR policies.

“With HiSoftware we are not just talk; we are able to put our policies into action. It is not just about IT securing and policing the SharePoint 2013 environment, Security Sheriff will help end-users confidently do the right thing with documents and remove any distribution loopholes in the system," noted Jan Juhlin, IT manager at Dunross & Co.

“SharePoint 2013 is feature rich and provides multiple social options, however organizations must balance the benefits of open collaboration with risk management and security,” said Kurt Mueffelmann, president and CEO, HiSoftware. “HiSoftware solves this challenge by securing sensitive content to meet governance requirements and protect against breaches, while still allowing approved audiences to collaborate freely.”

The HiSoftware Sheriff solutions are now available for SharePoint 2013.
