We want to keep the design to that of traditional Sussex architecture, whilst stay true to the story of the Sunte House.

Early March saw the UK’s leading retailer of new build houses, Banner Homes, hold a presentation of proposals for the development of Sunte House, off Ganders Green in Haywards Heath.

Hosting the exhibition to over 150 attendees to inform the local community about their plans, Banner Homes took the opportunity to try and allay any public fears regarding the building work - with their proposals overall reasonably well received.

Managing Director at Banner Homes Southern, John Kennedy, said: “We recognise that any change within a community is bound to have implications for local residents. That’s why our very own Architectural Team has been working closely with the Heritage Consultant so as to make sure that our plans are relevant and bespoke to the site – especially given its scenic location; as clearly we do not want to upset the local community or the setting.”

Banner Homes hopes to offer a selection of 3, 4 and 5 bedroom mixed dwelling types including affordable housing that complements the stature of both Sunte House and the nearby Wickham Farm House.

“On board we have a number of professionals – ranging from heritage consultants and arboriculture experts right through to ecological consultants and drainage analysts. This is done to ensure that the design of the proposed properties will add aesthetic value, and not mar the appearance or the environment,” added Kennedy. “We want to keep the design to that of traditional Sussex architecture, whilst stay true to the story of the Sunte House. We thank the public for taking the time and trouble to attend the exhibition and for giving their views.”

Combining the best of both worlds by designing homes that are both stylish as well as environmentally-friendly, homeowners know that by choosing Banner Houses, new property is not just a house; it’s a home.
