$.50 of every paid claim using the PANCAN RxAdvantage Card is donated directly to PANCAN.

“Our hope is that Pharmacists will see what we’re trying to accomplish for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and join with us in our fight against this terrible cancer.” said David Chapman, Co-Founder and President of Phoenix Benefits Management

Phoenix Benefits Management, LLC, a Georgia based Prescription Benefits Manager, is pleased to announce their partnership with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. The partnership comes in the form of the Phoenix RxAdvantage Prescription Discount Card which provides discounts up to 75% off the retail cost of medications. For every claim processed and paid using the RxAdvantage card, $.50 will be donated directly to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

“Early on, as we were creating our company, we decided that it was important to all of us that we give back as much and as often as possible. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is close to our hearts because we have been personally affected by this atrocious disease,” said David Chapman, President and Co-Founder of Phoenix Benefits Management. “We believe that through this partnership we can do big things, not just by raising money, but also by raising awareness.” The card is available to print out or upload to your mobile device at

The Phoenix RxAdvantage Card is a prescription discount card that offers relief to patients who are uninsured or underinsured. “With savings up to 75% off the retail cost of medications, not only are our savings better for the cardholder, but our processing fee at the Pharmacy is pennies compared to some of our larger competitors which means the cardholder gets a better discount on their medication.” Chapman said, when asked how Phoenix is different from other card providers. “Our hope is that the Pharmacists will see what we’re trying to accomplish for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and join with us in our fight against this terrible cancer.”

The card is free to use and is accepted at over 60,000 pharmacies, nationwide. There is no paperwork to be filled out and the card is ready to use as soon as it’s received by the cardholder. When asked about the privacy protection associated with the card Chapman reassured that, “We are extremely cautious about the information retrieved through the program. We want people to feel safe when using their card. With RxAdvantage we ensure that all information remains protected under the HIPAA law and is never subject to sale.” Phoenix also provides a support team to answer questions and help cardholders navigate their way through the sometimes confusing world of prescription medications.

Pancreatic Cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United States, yet it is the most underfunded, under-recognized and least-studied of all the leading cancer killers. Currently, less than 2 percent of the National Cancer Institute’s federal research funding is allocated to pancreatic cancer. The five year survival rate for Pancreatic Cancer is just 6 percent, the lowest among all major cancer killers. This year, nearly 44,000 Americans will be diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, and more than 37,000 will die from the disease. And according to a recently released report, the incidence and death rates for Pancreatic Cancer are increasing, and Pancreatic Cancer is anticipated to move from the fourth to second leading cancer killer in the U.S. by 2020, and possibly as early as 2015. “We want this statistic to change. We want to beat Pancreatic Cancer and we will not stop fighting until we do.” Chapman said.
