Austin, Texas based company Russell Korman Fine Jewelry, Diamonds & Watches is celebrating 40 years of business this year. The store is also relocating to a larger space in the up and coming Lower Burnet District of Austin in Fall 2013.

This move comes at the perfect time,” said Hank Korman, Vice-President of Russell Korman. “The larger space is going to allow us to continue to provide great customer service as we grow.

Russell Korman, the largest independent retailer of watches, diamonds and jewelry in Central Texas, is marking its 40th anniversary with a move from their landmark location to a new, mixed-use building in the trendy Lower Burnet (Lo-Burn) district of Austin. The company is excited to move into a new space that will provide for continued growth.

“We’ve been in business for 40 years and are planning a move into a beautiful new building,” said Monica Korman, Marketing Director of Russell Korman. “We can’t think of a better way to celebrate.”

Family owned and operated, the local store has enjoyed much success over the past 40 years and is recognized as one of Austin’s favorite places to buy diamonds, fine jewelry and Swiss watches. This anniversary is a major milestone for the company and can be attributed to the non-commissioned, knowledgeable staff, superior brand names and the loyalty of the Austin community.

Despite leaving its iconic location at 38th Street and Lamar Boulevard, there is much anticipation about the upcoming move to 5011 Burnet Road in the Eye Physicians of Austin building, which will occur in Fall 2013.

“This move comes at the perfect time,” said Hank Korman, Vice-President of Russell Korman. “The larger space is going to allow us to continue to provide great customer service as we grow.”

The expansion will add over 2,000 sq. ft. of space and will allow for new luxury brands arriving later this year. A larger watch and jewelry repair area will also be built to provide expanded customer service for clients. In addition, the expansion includes a larger parking lot, with over 90 spots available. Stephen Levy and Cathrine Tait of Levy Architects are designing the space and Donna Stockton-Hicks Design will be the interior consultant.

The history of Russell Korman is as unique as the city it calls home. Russell began in the jewelry trade by selling beads along the UT drag. Russell opened his first retail store on South Congress selling silver and eventually settled at the corner of 38th and Lamar, where the store has been an Austin landmark for the past 27 years. From humble beginnings, Russell Korman has grown into a strong, independent jewelry store featuring exclusive designers from around the world, such as Rolex, Breitling, Tag Heuer, Omega, Marco Bicego and Roberto Coin.

The newly constructed Eye Physicians of Austin building is a state of the art retail and medical space recently opened in the Lo-Burn IBZ District, as coined by the Austin Independent Business Alliance (AIBA). The popular strip is home to over 60 locally owned businesses, according to the AIBA website.

Since 1973, Central Texans have chosen Russell Korman Fine Jewelry, Diamonds & Watches as their ultimate shopping experience for high quality watches and jewelry. Russell Korman is the only store in Central Texas to have three certified in-house watchmakers approved to repair 11 Swiss watch brands with authorized, manufactured parts. Russell Korman is a proud supporter of numerous local charities and helps give back to over 50 groups and organizations.
