The adage ride to live and live to ride epitomized Johnny
Orange County, CA (PRWEB) June 20, 2013
It’s been five years since Robin Matherson lost her husband John in a motorcycle accident, which happened only a week after they celebrated Robin beating the same cancer that had claimed the lives of her mother and grandmother. Since that time, Robin continues to recover from the loss of her husband, as well as the ravages of aggressive chemo and radiation treatments. She has also successfully fought to keep the economy from claiming her motorcycle dealership. With all of that behind her, she and her children have turned their attention, power and the influence of Mission Motorsports towards increased rider awareness, improved rider training, and education about the value and use of protective riding gear. Robin and her children are using this milestone occasion to host a free rider and non-rider event on June 29th at their dealership.
Robin stated, "The adage ride to live and live to ride epitomized Johnny. He recognized how lucky we were to be blessed with working in a sport and industry that is our passion and he did all he could to support racers and race tracks for 25 years. Now that we've stabilized our lives and business we are compelled to turn our attention and influence to increasing awareness of safety and education for riders and soon-to-be-riders, and this includes on-road and off-road riding and riders of all ages and experience. For this event, we've invited more than 150 motorcycle clubs from 5 counties, and we're sending more than 10,000 personal invitations to area riders and their families. To the best of our knowledge, no event like this has ever been hosted in Southern California."
Mission Motorsports has enlisted the support from manufacturers like Yamaha, BRP, Suzuki, Can-Am, Polaris, Victory and more, and have arranged for attendance of the leading experts from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Professional instructors for street and dirt riders will be here answering questions, providing advice and encouraging riders to improve their knowledge. Companies like Bell and Shoei Helmets are bringing their professional race team helmet fitting experts to provide free helmet fittings and answer questions regarding helmet safety, and we have companies like 6D Helmets, Oakley and others coming here to pull back the curtain and show the newest safety technology that is saving riders from serious injury. We will have a full selection of 2013 Suzuki Motorcycles available every 30 minutes for test rides led by professional riding instructors, and more than 600 street and dirt motorcycles, ATVs and watercraft will be available to view and try out; this includes the only on-water-experience-tank for watercraft in California. Since riding is all about having fun, we've got Dyno shootouts, Burnout Contests and Bikes Shows for Cruisers, Sportbikes and Vintage motorcycles. For the kids, we have kid's bikes to try, and professional trainers specializing in teaching children to ride will be on hand, and there's an awesome kids zone with a 30-foot video gaming arcade trailer, the amazing Danny Magic, bouncy houses, free food, a Taco Bar and drinks and more. Plus, we're giving away thousands of dollars in prizes and have hundreds of giveaways."...
