Archiving Pioneer Adds Higher Performance While Creating a Smaller Form Factor to Help IT Organizations Conserve Data Center Space

ArcMail Technology, Inc. today announced plans to equip its entire line of appliance-based ArcMail Defender archiving solutions with next-generation hardware that increases processing power, memory and storage capacity – all in a smaller footprint to conserve data center space.

Our new smaller footprint answers this need while also providing exceptional processing power and memory to give our customers more performance than ever along with increased storage capacity. The new hardware platform uses high-performance CPUs, memory, solid state disks (SSDs) and smaller hard drives in a way that optimizes the archive, index and search performance of its software applications and database. In the larger models, all database index read and write operations occur either in memory or on SSDs. In all models, one-to-one multi-threading is used at every level of the architecture to take full advantage of new generation Intel processors. The result is a dramatic improvement in both data throughput and search times.

In all Defender models, from smallest to largest, the use of 2.5 inch hard drives provides more storage in less space. The smaller form factor means that, now, the previous 2U models are built on the new 1U ArcMail chassis, and the 3U models — offering up to 16TB of capacity — are now being built on a 2U chassis. In addition, ArcMail will continue offering a 32TB capacity model and is adding a 24TB capacity model, both of which are built on the new ArcMail 3U chassis.

The hardware is available now with all new ArcMail Defender appliances and supports a variety of ArcMail solutions including server-based email, ArcMail Guardian for hosted email including Google Apps™ and Office 365, ArcMail Social for social media archiving and ArcMail for Microsoft SharePoint™.

ArcMail Demonstrates Industry Leadership and Market Innovation

Continuing to demonstrate its industry leadership by capitalizing on key market trends, ArcMail recently launched its ArcMail Social archiving solution for information governance of corporate social media data. The new offering is designed to help organizations protect, organize and quickly retrieve valuable social media data.

In addition, the recently introduced Defender VM is offered in configurations ranging from 2 to 32 terabytes of archived storage and is designed to help IT managers optimize archiving in virtualized environments. All ArcMail solutions are easy to deploy, manage and maintain.
