“POS digital signage enables businesses to promote or advertise right at the point of purchase. It's the perfect place and time to influence a customer's purchasing behaviour,” said Stuart Lakin, Director, Business Development at Signbox.

According to the digital signage solutions provider, Point of Sale (POS) digital signage is an extremely powerful marketing tool for retailers and is quickly becoming of the most popular forms of DOOH media.
"POS digital signage enables businesses to promote or advertise right at the point of purchase. It's the perfect place and time to influence a customer's purchasing behaviour," said Stuart Lakin, Director, Business Development at Signbox.
Signbox Microsystems has provided the following tips for businesses wanting to use Point of Sale digital signage:
1. Have a very clear objective in mind. Consider what it is you want to achieve with your signage. You may not want to promote products that are elsewhere in the store, because your customer is already queuing up to pay. But perhaps you’d like to let them know about your Loyalty Rewards program? Or you could advertise your End of Financial Year sale starting next week. Whatever your objective is, make sure you know it!
2. Use highly visual and persuasive content. Although POS signs are highly visible and in an area with frequently high dwell times (as customers wait in line to be served), your sign is likely smaller due to space constraints and will need to work harder to grab the customer’s attention.
3. Customise your screens. This applies particularly to larger stores with multiple departments. Ensure each POS screen includes content that is relevant to that department's product/services. For example, customers at the cosmetic department’s till could receive information about the newest waterproof eyeliner, or get offered a free in-store makeover, whereas the clothing department counter could feature on-screen offers about a store card with 0% interest for 12 months.
"POS digital signage is quickly becoming the latest trend in improving the in-store shopping experience, enabling brick-and-mortar retailers to compete with their online counterparts," said Stuart Lakin.
