Sendero sponsors Evanta Executive Summit conferences to promote knowledge and expose opportunities around Big Data technology.

“The session about Big Data was both enlightening and engaging,” said Donny Helm, Oncor’s Director of Technology. “It’s not every day that you have an opportunity to collaborate and have an open exchange with peers across multiple industries."

Big Data brought together more than 250 industry leaders to strategize ways to maintain competitive advantage. This cutting-edge technology allows business users to quickly identify trends and unlock insights into their customers and their business by harnessing vast amounts of previously unusable data. Bret Farrar, Founding Partner of Sendero Business Services, was the featured moderator at two Evanta Executive Summit conferences held in Dallas, Texas, on June 6th and 7th. Farrar hosted two executive boardroom sessions on the hot topic “Big Data: Evolution or Revolution?”

These boardroom conversations had over 30 participants, from select mid-market CIOs with companies $100 million to $1 billion in annual revenue, to executives from companies with revenue greater than $1 billion annually. Thought-provoking topics focused on truths, misconceptions, and real world experiences regarding Big Data.

Sendero, having deep skills and experiences in data architecture solutions, has developed a strategic partnership with Hortonworks, an industry-leading provider of the 100% open source Apache Hadoop Big Data platform. This alliance positions Sendero for opportunities to lead the coming wave of tactical and strategic use of data to uncover potential value for clients.

“The session about Big Data was both enlightening and engaging,” said Donny Helm, Oncor’s Director of Technology. “It’s not every day that you have an opportunity to collaborate and have an open exchange with peers across multiple industries. To be able to do so and discuss a topic that has such momentum and potential makes it that much more valuable.”

In some cases, executives were seeking evolutionary steps to embark on the Big Data movement; in other cases, cross-industry technology leaders discussed the revolutionary advantages of increased volume, velocity, variety of today’s data, and the value of the new technology.

“The Evanta CIO conferences were a great opportunity to converse with thought leaders across multiple industries on some of the cutting edge topics of today's technology,” said Bret Farrar of Sendero. “In our moderated sessions we were able to share our personal involvement and knowledge capital around the topic of Big Data. We also gained valuable insight into solutions that have been on the forefront of CIOs’ agendas.”
