A game changer for local jurisdictions, the state-of-the-art features built into the Public Portal deliver big data access to the people, providing a powerful transparency tool that drives efficiencies - Jon Byrd, SMARTGov Business Development Mgr

Paladin Data Systems Corporation announced today the launch of the newest version of its Public Portal for SMARTGov, Paladin’s community development software that manages the full lifecycle of any permit, inspection, license, or code enforcement action for local government.

SMARTGov’s online Public Portal helps jurisdictions reduce front counter workload while empowering its citizens with powerful online tools. The Public Portal is a full-featured extension of the jurisdiction’s front counter services which enables the public to research local building trends, apply for a permit, view maps, pay fees, submit digital architectural drawings, request inspections, and even review public notice postings in a 24/7, self-help environment.

“This is really a game changer for many local jurisdictions. The state-of-the-art features built into the SMARTGov Public Portal deliver big data access to the people. We are able to pull usage metrics from Google analytics demonstrating exactly how the Public Portal is being used and what is most important to citizens. This is a powerful transparency tool and it helps drive efficiencies.” SMARTGov Business Development Manager, Jonathan Byrd said.

The SMARTGov Public Portal gives citizens visibility into the permitting and code enforcement process of the providing jurisdiction. The Public Portal allows citizens to:

  • Search for permits by permit number, address, name, or contractor
  • View permit information such as contacts, and submittal requirements
  • Monitor approval steps, inspections required, and conditions
  • Plot permits on a map with the integrated GIS viewer
  • Search and view public notice announcements for land use actions
  • Create and monitor code enforcement requests

The Public Portal gives citizens the ability to manage the permitting process through an account. This allows them to apply for, monitor, and pay for permits, upload submittal documents and schedule and receive inspection results online and via email notifications. The Public Portal also features robust reporting and the ability to view inspection schedules and download any available documentation related to inspections.
