New Direction IRA will be educating coin collectors about gold IRAs and holding bullion, US coins and other precious metals products in self-directed IRAs in conjunction with the 45th annual American Numismatic Association (ANA) Summer Session in Colorado Springs later this month.
New Direction IRA Director of Business Development Clay Malcolm will lead two evening classes, known as “Bull Sessions,” for the group of collectors—one during each week of the two-week seminar. Malcolm will speak on June 24 and July 1 at Colorado College about holding precious metals and certain coins in self-directed IRA accounts.
A self-directed IRA is allowed to invest in metals such as gold, silver, platinum and palladium, as well as certain coins like the American Eagle, Canadian Maple Leaf and more. For a list of allowed and disallowed coins, visit http://www.newdirectionira.com.
Malcolm said he hopes the two sessions will educate coin collectors about self-directed IRAs and the full suite of investment options they provide.
"Coin collectors often have interest and expertise related to bullion coins," Malcolm said, "but many are not aware that their IRA can purchase these coins. There are specific IRS rules that guide this type of investment, and I’ll be talking about those details during these classes."
The 2013 Summer Seminar "features a lineup of classes to meet virtually every collector's needs," according to the ANA website. Attendees meet and learn from the hobby's most prominent scholars, collectors and businesses like New Direction IRA.
