The city has swapped to LED type bulbs in a bid to cut costs.

Lighting Company is delighted to learn that the city of Los Angeles has made the decision to switch to LED bulbs in an attempt to save energy and drive down energy bills.

According to The Daily Beast, Los Angeles has swapped 140,000 street light bulbs to LED bulbs to save an estimated $10 million annually in energy and bulb costs. Figures show that street lamps cost around 10 and 38 per cent of the City’s utility bill with traditional type bulbs needing changed every four to six years and as a result increasing the amount of labour and maintenance needed.

The news is met with delight from UK based LED company Simple Lighting who supply LED indoor and LED outdoor lights, LED bulbs as well as LED strip lights to name a few. The company has championed the use of LED lights for domestic and commercial use due to its extended use and cheaper running costs. A spokesperson from the company added:
