The Charles E. Boyk Law Office has released wellness tips for next week, June 24-28, to be used at work and at home.

National Safety Month (NSM) is in full swing and the Charles E. Boyk Law Office has taken a lead support role within the community. As a supporter of safe and healthy employees, the law office has released daily tips that have been provided by the National Safety Council (NSC). The wellness tips for next week, June 24 - 28, have been posted in their blog, stressing how important it is for employees to take a proactive role in their own health. The daily tips for the week of June 24, 2013 focus on ergonomics and how employees can prevent future harm to their body.

Daily Tips to Improve Ergonomics:

Monday, June 24th – Ergonomics involves designing the job environment to fit the person and is important to take into consideration at work and home.

Tuesday, June 25th – When working, give your eyes a rest and periodically take time to close them for a minute at a time and then focus on an object at least 20 feet away.

Wednesday, June 26th – Symptoms of some ergonomic issues include tingling, numbness, pain, swelling and loss of grip strength.

Thursday, June 27th – Stretching should be gentle and controlled, not painful. Breathe deeply when you hold your stretch.

Friday, June 28th – Stretching periodically throughout the day can reduce sprains, strains, and your risk of ergonomic injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome or tendonitis.
