Wry and ironic, the independent feature Thursday's Speaker, starring Del Zamora, will have its East Coast Premiere at the Manhattan Film Festival on Friday, June 28th at 5:30pm at Hunter College. This is the feature film debut from writer and director Gary Hebert.
Thursday's Speaker explores serious issues like alcoholism, teen drinking, unplanned pregnancy, and the lies told to hide it all with lightness and humor. Rodrigo Orieta is a charismatic, motivational twelve step speaker whose world is built on dishonesty. Gary Hebert has crafted a comedic tale of a quest to live honestly with a new and unexpected family.
Del Zamora has worked as a professional actor for over 30 years. His 100+ credits range from Repo Man and Robo Cop, to True Blood and Longmire. He's a character actor with the versatility to play such varied roles as well as the charisma to carry a film like Thursday's Speaker as Rodrigo. Del is active in the latino community, working to raise the profile of their contributions to cinema.
