NurseCompetency, a leading provider of online clinical competency exams, announced the addition of 25 new exams to their extensive content library. This library now exceeds a combined 175 exams, skills checklists, and education topics available to its client base of healthcare employers.

Kathy Mercer, MA, MSN, RNC-OB, CNM, the company’s Director of Clinical Education, described the rigorous, 6-step content validation process used for the exam development. This process included conducting a job analysis, developing a test blueprint, developing test items, reviewing the test items, collecting statistics, and evaluating and adjusting items based on psychometric analysis for each exam. Ms. Mercer explained that the process was carried out with the support of the company’s Clinical Advisory Board.

The newly released content includes exams for Pharmacy Technicians, Medical Coders, Mammography Technologists, Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Histotechnologists, EEG Technicians, and Cardiovascular Technicians along with 17 additional exams covering various specialty areas.

"I am impressed with the high level of expertise and clinical experience among the subject matter experts involved with the test development process; we worked with experts from some of the leading healthcare systems and universities in the U.S.," says Joseph Caracci, CEO of NurseCompetency. Mr. Caracci went on to say that the newly developed tests for nurses and clinical professionals are now available with all NurseCompetency packages, including their “Premium” package which seamlessly integrates the exams with their medical staffing software. The exams are also available to acute-care hospitals through their exclusive distribution agreement with HealthStream (NASDAQ: HSTM).
