Boudoir parties and photography have been generating a lot of media buzz recently. 5th Avenue Digital hosts their own boudoir party and finds out why boudoir is worth talking about and experiencing.

We watched as women conquered their fears of being sexy and in the spotlight.

Boudoir photography seems to be all the rage today. Making headlines in the New York Post and on shows like Chelsea Lately, many are wondering, “What’s all the buzz?”

5th Avenue Digital hosted an inaugural Boudoir Party last Tuesday. Guests nervously walked in unsure of what to expect. Half of the girls came in solely for moral support saying boudoir was too risqué for them.

The 5th Avenue Digital office and new studio space were transformed to create a comfortable environment. Hair and makeup stylists were on-site and cocktails were served to ease nerves. Drinking and getting pampered can boost confidence, but the full transformation didn’t happen until after each boudoir shoot.

President of 5th Avenue Digital, Elizabeth Beskin says, “We watched as women conquered their fears of being sexy and in the spotlight. The energy in the room changed as each lady completed their shoot.”

Women came out of the studio giddy and wanting to shoot more. The first girl out, Lauren Dato, actually jumped with joy. Dato says, “The boudoir session was so empowering. I was nervous at first. Worried about not being comfortable in front of the camera, worried about showing off my body in photos—but Kari and the gals at 5th Avenue Digital were infectious. This is a definite must do for women of all ages.”

By the end of the night, almost everyone decided to give boudoir a go.

The boudoir photographer Kari Otero sums up the purpose of boudoir saying, “The goal is to always have a woman feeling more confident about herself. I hope that in the photos they see sides of themselves they never knew existed.”

Boudoir photography doesn’t exclude anyone and can be customized. Guests included young women, older women, skinny women and larger women. Individuals stripped down to what they were comfortable with. Regardless of the details of each shoot, every woman had the same positive reaction.

5th Avenue Digital found that boudoir is much more than sexy photography; it’s a fun night out with a powerful confidence boost.
