We must fully grasp what government agencies are doing to assist our veterans. Our success will depend on our ability to link the government’s efforts with the skill sets and needs of our veterans.
- General Larry Ellis (Ret., U.S. Army)

Atlanta GA (PRWEB) June 25, 2013

General Larry Ellis (ret., U.S. Army), a service-disabled veteran, has teamed with NexxLinx and the Bobby Dodd Institute to form a veteran-centric Contact Center company dedicated to providing wounded warriors, veterans and their immediate families with well-meaning post-deployment jobs. While unemployment among disabled and returning veterans has skyrocketed, Vetconnexx is committed to drawing back this trend.

General Ellis served more than 35 years active duty including overseas tours in Europe, the Pacific and the Balkans before retiring as the Commander of US Army Forces Command. He’s joined by an elite management team and Board of Advisors, including
Craig Mento, CEO of NexxLinx.

Since mid- 2012, NexxLinx and the Bobby Dodd Institute have been building a dominant design to recruit, hire, train and retain returning veterans and veterans with disabilities. “We provide pre-screened, reliable team players with the ability to learn new skills and concepts,” said Wayne McMillan, CEO of the Bobby Dodd Institute. “We’ve been building this program with AT&T International for over a year, and am ready to move to a larger stage,” he continued.

General Ellis commented, “To be successful at placing and retaining veterans, one must contend with a couple of dynamics. First, you must understand the culture of the military. It is a culture of selfless service and giving back to the greater community; the military family is part of that fabric. To the degree that we can create the environment and tap into this concept of service, we will be successful. Second, we must fully grasp what government agencies are doing to assist our veterans in finding jobs. Our success will depend on our ability to link the government’s efforts with the skillsets and needs of our veterans.”

“We provide technology and management,” said Craig Mento, CEO of NexxLinx. “As the largest Business Transformation outsourcer in Atlanta, and one of the top 25 in the Nation, we provide Contact Center services to leaders in a variety of industries. Our experience with veterans has been that they have real respect for rules, policy, and procedure. They thrive on structure and make great team players.”

Some employers may be looking to hire veterans due to legal requirements or out of a sense of patriotism, but companies should really be looking at customer satisfaction and ROI. The goal-oriented culture of veterans has taught them to focus on the action at hand, whether that’s providing customer care, inside sales, technical support or customer retention.

“These brave veterans and their families served their nation with honor and selflessness, now it’s our turn to recognize and value them,” General Ellis concluded.
