Paris Air Show (June 19, 2013) - GasTOPS Ltd. announces that the 10,000th MetalSCAN® oil debris monitor sensor built since the inception of the product line has been delivered to Pratt & Whitney, through their sister company, UTC Aerospace Systems. Today in recognition of this significant event Mr. David Muir, GasTOPS President and CEO, presented a plaque to Mr. Bennett Croswell, Pratt & Whitney, President, Military Engines. “GasTOPS appreciates Pratt & Whitney’s long standing trust and support and we are excited to have the opportunity to be a supplier to Pratt & Whitney for their legacy and new generation engine programs in the future,” said Mr. Muir. GasTOPS produces MetalSCAN sensors and applications for a large number of equipment applications including aviation engines, gas turbines, wind turbines and marine propulsion drives for more than 20 years. Pratt & Whitney is the longest standing customer for MetalSCAN having placed the first order with GasTOPS in 1991 to develop a version of the oil debris sensor (ODM) for a Pratt & Whitney military engine. Since then Pratt & Whitney has ordered versions of the ODM for the F-35 Lightning II fighter F135 engines and the lift fan for the F-35 STOVL version, as well as for the new PurePower® PW1000G family of commercial engines to be used on the Bombardier C Series, Mitsubishi MRJ, Airbus A320neo, Irkut MS-21, and the new generation Embraer E-Jets.
