It is an honor to have two of our executives recognized by CRN for their influence and work in the channel.
Boston, MA (PRWEB) June 24, 2013
GlobalSign, the enterprise SaaS Certificate Authority (CA), today announced that Lila Kee, chief product and marketing officer, and Laila Robak, partner account executive of Latin America, have been recognized by UBM Tech Channel’s CRN as two of the top Women of the Channel. CRN’s annual list recognizes nearly 300 female executives across vendor channel organizations, distributors and solution providers for their accomplishments over the past year, and the far-reaching impact they are having on the technology industry going forward. This year’s Women of the Channel were chosen by the editors of CRN based on their achievements as executives and the amount of influence they wield over the technology channel. These women represent a changing trend in a traditionally male dominated industry.
This is Lila Kee’s third year being recognized by CRN for her 20 years of experience in the PKI sector and her leadership in the security industry. She was recently appointed to the North American Energy Standards Board’s (NAESB) Wholesale Electric Quadrant (WEQ) Board of Directors' End-user Segment where she takes a lead role in the development of security best practices and standards needed to secure electric-industry wholesale-business applications. Under her leadership, GlobalSign and NAESB began a relationship a year ago that has since helped to establish stricter PKI standards for the WEQ that will strengthen defenses against modern-day cyberthreats. Kee’s involvement with the electric channel has granted GlobalSign the awareness of what these companies are dealing with from a security perspective granting insight on how to improve security and help shape standards for the critical infrastructure as a whole.
Laila Robak has developed key strategic relationships with companies throughout the Latin American territory by creating awareness about the importance of digital security. Taking advantage of her background in understanding the IT security risks facing Latin America, Robak was able to work closely and pay attention to companies’ real needs. The validation of her efforts is seen in GlobalSign’s growth in the Brazilian SSL market share by 40% percent between 2011 and 2012. Robak plans to continue GlobalSign’s growth throughout Latin America and strengthen GlobalSign’s brand by developing further key partnerships and engaging in educational campaigns that present companies with information on how to protect themselves and their customers online.
“We honor and congratulate this list of influential women who are dedicated to supporting the mission of the channel,” said Robert Faletra, CEO, UBM Tech Channel. “For years, we have identified and celebrated the women who have made an indelible mark on the technology industry through unmatched innovation and razor focus on meeting the needs of the IT channel community.”
“It is an honor to have two of our executives recognized by CRN for their influence and work in the channel.” said Steve Waite, CEO of GlobalSign. “The leadership that Kee has brought to the energy sector in establishing security standards that will be modeled by other utility sectors is admirable. Her security expertise has provided the foundation for the defense against cyber attacks for a key part of our critical infrastructure. Robak has played a key role in educating the Latin American market on how to better secure their companies, protect their customers and safeguard their brands, and as a result has created a safer Internet experience for that region.”
A special feature of the Women of the Channel is in the June issue of CRN magazine and expanded coverage of The 100 Most Powerful Women of the Channel will be featured online at http://www.crn.com.
