The Athlete Portal will have a huge impact ... they will end up with a richer set of data on each athlete, which results in better heath care.

Presagia, the leading developer of athlete health management software solutions, announced today powerful new features in Presagia Sports to better engage athletes in their own health management and an update from the SCAT2 to SCAT3. Presagia Sports, an Athlete Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, will now include an Athlete Portal with self-registration which allows athletes to securely access and contribute to their health records.
Knowing that athletic trainers, physicians, coaches and physical therapists can have hundreds or even thousands of athletes they are working with at any given time, finding the time to input detailed individual information can be too time consuming. By leveraging the Athlete Portal, athletes can log in and create a profile and user account. There they can view and update their demographic information, sports ID, emergency contact information and insurance information. They can also answer a medical questionnaire with general health information such as any medications they take regularly, their most recent surgeries and more. Administrators not only save a huge amount of time, they also have more information made available to them as a lack of time can sometimes result in less information being put into the system. As a result, they are provided with a better overview of athletes’ overall health.
Athletes will also be able to communicate with the medical team directly through Presagia Sports’ secure, internal messaging system, facilitating a healthy, ongoing dialogue. The Athlete Portal only allows athletes to see their own profile and messages, all other information is restricted as are other athletes’ profiles – a necessary measure to support privacy regulations.
The latest release of Presagia Sports also includes an upgrade from the SCAT2 to SCAT3, the world-class concussion assessment tool. Just released in March, the SCAT3 has revised the order in which an assessment is conducted in order to determine the most important clinical information in a streamlined manner. It also includes a neck examination, a modified balance examination and some background health questions the person conducting the assessment must ask the athlete.
"Presagia's development priorities are primarily driven by what will provide the most value to our community of users,” says Peter Rorlick, VP of Research and Development at Presagia. "We added the Athlete Portal and the SCAT3 due to popular demand and decided to make these things available free of charge to our customers."
"The Athlete Portal will have a huge impact, because it will not only relieve medical professionals from having to manually enter information for every athlete, they will end up with a richer set of data on each athlete, which results in better heath care," he added.
