Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman CPAs announces that Jacqueline Oneto will become the firm’s new managing partner effective July 1, 2013. She will succeed David F. Graling who has served as managing partner since 1998. Oneto, a partner at Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman, specializes in providing nonprofit audit services and benefit plan audit services for 401(k), 401(a), 403(b), profit-sharing, pension, health and welfare plans.
“Our firm has built a reputation serving nonprofits locally, nationally and around the world for more than 30 years,” says Oneto. “We have also seen other niches mature during this period including valuations, litigation support, tax, estate and financial planning, and services for international non-governmental organizations. Under David’s leadership, we have enjoyed significant growth and success. I look forward to helping Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman navigate the complex operating environment in which professional accountants offer their expertise.”
Graling, who remains president of the firm, is working with Oneto to transition responsibilities associated with managing a professional services firm. He will focus on building his base of nonprofit, for-profit and individual clients.
Last year, Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman earned revenue of approximately $21 million. Earlier this year, Accounting Today, a provider of business news for the tax and accounting community, recognized the firm as one of the top firms to watch in 2013. Inside Public Accounting also included Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman as one of the Best of the Best Firms in 2012.
“Our culture and the quality of our service should not significantly change during the transition,” explains Oneto, who has served clients with Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman since 1997. “While succession presents a challenge for all firms undergoing a leadership change, one primary goal for us has been to avoid disruption to the client experience. Our clients can continue to expect the same personal attention and high-quality professional services they have always received.”
Oneto is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, AICPA’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center, the Greater Washington Society of CPAs and the Maryland Association of CPAs. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman CPAs has been part of the Washington, DC metropolitan community for more than 30 years. The full service accounting firm provides financial, tax and consulting services to an extensive client base of nonprofit organizations, for-profit corporations including government contractors, research and development firms, retail, professional service firms, partnerships, trusts and individual clients.
