Hidden Hearing Dispenser Receives MBE in Queens Birthday Honours

A Hidden Hearing dispenser has received an MBE in the Queen’s 2013 birthday honours list for his services to air cadet gliding.

Nominated by his group captain, Bernard is receiving the only award for an RAF Volunteer Reserve officer on this year’s birthday list.

Bernard Tisley, a hearing aid dispenser at Hidden Hearing’s Stratford Upon Avon branch has been awarded an MBE for his 35 years of service to air cadet gliding.

Recently promoted to Wing Commander, Bernard is the regional gliding officer for the central and east region of the air cadet organisation. He is responsible for the ground aspects of operations at five volunteer gliding squadrons throughout the central and east part of the country.

Nominated by his group captain, Bernard is receiving the only award for an RAF Volunteer Reserve officer on this year’s birthday list.

Working as a Hidden Hearing dispenser for the past twelve years, Bernard says that the best part of his job is working with a range of fascinating clients from all levels of society – all with interesting stories to tell.

We are all proud of him and feel quite honoured that he is a part of our own organisation helping to make a difference with those suffering from hearing loss.”
