We were really excited to be able to try out the iOS 7
(PRWEB UK) 25 June 2013
The biggest difference between iOS 7 and previous versions is the complete redesign. The whole look has been completely stripped back to show a flat, simple and retro interface –taking everything back to basics for easy usability. Apple said that they’ve removed any clutter that doesn’t need to be there, and only added new features when they truly bring something extra to the experience. It’s a refreshing breath of air after so many smartphones are becoming chaotic, trying to do too much at once.
However, it’s not overly simple – it still definitely feels like an iPhone. The design cleverly makes use of depth and transparent layers, responding to your movements to create an almost 3D effect. Changing the background now also updates the whole ‘personality’ of the phone – buttons change to colour in response to your background, to reflect the feel of it and make the whole design feel unified.
In terms of features, Control Center is the new hub for access to all the features you need – available with one upward swipe from the bottom of any screen. Change to Airplane Mode, switch your Bluetooth on, and open your flashlight, timer, calculator, and camera. At the top of the screen is the Notification Center, also accessible from any screen. The Today feature gives you a detailed overview of the day, from what the weather’s going to be like, to any events you have planned, and any missed calls or messages you have.
It’s also much easier to switch between apps with Multitasking, and for the first time, Apple’s Air Drop comes to mobile devices, offering intelligent Bluetooth for sharing files with friends nearby. Siri’s also got a brand new look – it now shows you it can hear you, can search Wikipedia, and shows you answers within the app.
Les Yates, marketing manager for The Snugg, said: “We were really excited to be able to try out the iOS 7, and see all the great new features. Users will love how simple it looks, and how easy it makes their iPhones or iPads to use. With lots of new and exciting smartphones making waves on the market, it is nice to get a sneak peak of what is going to be running on the newest Apple devices.
He also stated: “The new Mac Pro is a beautiful piece of tech, but a lot of people were really looking forward to a new addition to the iPad and iPhone range and maybe even the rumoured iWatch. Despite this, we at The Snugg will be ready for the next releases this fall, and will be ready with a new iPad case and iPhone case for when the time is right!”
With only the Mac Pro being released at this conference, the pressure is on for Apple to truly wow their followers and the rest of the industry. This is Apple’s chance to get their own advocates back on side, and prove that they’re still at the cutting edge of aesthetic design and product innovation.
