The essence of this software is to enable effective coordination of the many facets of mountain operations and have accountability for completion of tasks/activities scheduled or unscheduled throughout the many disciplines associated with mountain operations. Today’s successes come from having data and making the right decisions. MountainOffice helps technicians have the right data when they need it to make the best decisions providing skiers and riders with a memorable and safe skiing experience. MountainOffice has enjoyed success in Europe with over 60 installations in some of the finest ski resorts across Austria, Switzerland and Italy.

The first installation of MountainOffice in North America under the direction of Steep Management began in December 2012 at Sugarbush Resort in Warren Vermont, a two mountain ski resort with 18 lifts and 2600 feet of vertical serving skiers from the Northeast and Canada under the direction of Steep Management. John Hammond, VP of Mountain Operations, was looking for a system that enabled him to be able to keep tabs on the open items and track them to completion. John laid out his intent at the beginning of the installation and his crew worked diligently to learn the system and build the schedules and structure that was needed to meet everyone's requirements.

This first phase has only incorporated lifts and the dispatch function into MountainOffice. John has commented that "this exercise has certainly moved us forward in reviewing our lift maintenance schedules and forcing us to review our procedures, an unplanned benefit."

The entry in to North America was accelerated by the need for SEC Ges.m.b.H to create an English version of their software as they were chosen by Doppelmayr Cable Car the builders and operators of the recent cable car installed in London over the Thames River for the 2012 Olympics. Doppelmayr is the largest builder of cable cars and ski lifts in the world with offices in North America.

SEC Ges.m.b.H was founded in 1998 by Felix Viehauser and Erich Wanker. SEC produces Ropeway.net, an online magazine specializing in ropeways transportation, Seilbahn.net, an online information platform for ropeway technicians in Europe. It also represents IDE technologies ltd of Kadima, Israel, which makes all weather snowmaking systems, a vacuum based technology, used for unique snowmaking applications worldwide.
