Environment is pleased to announce that it has just completed a $2.5M round of financing from existing shareholders to implement a growth strategy.

Environment currently operates four U.S.A.-based showrooms, a wholesale and hospitality division as well as a private label business for Crate & Barrel.

With the new funding, Environment plans to strengthen its position as a leading innovator in home furnishings by further investing in Research & Development, supporting its U.S.-based manufacturing, developing new product lines and expanding its collaboration with others like-minded lifestyle companies.

Environment currently works with a very diverse team of designers such as Aldo Cibic, Jean-Marie Massaud, Frederic Frety, outofstock, Commune Design, Giacomo Moor, Alessandro La Spada, Marcus Ferreira and Itamar Burstein. Davide Berruto, environment President and CEO also commented that "environment is now in a position to look ahead with renewed confidence and excitement. We are all energized by the support our shareholders have given us and eager to move forward as swiftly as possible to take advantage of the improving economic conditions."

Started in 2001 as an experiment with a particular type of reclaimed wood called Brazilian Peroba, Environment was born with an attention towards conscious consuming and respect for the planet. Instead of seeing sustainability as constraint, but rather envisioning it as an advantage to trigger creativity and push the boundaries of furniture design, the company started to successfully experiment with uncommon woods and textiles since its inception and has ever since quickly established itself as a design pioneer.

Environment’s mission is to enhance people’s lives and promote a sophisticated casual way of living. Opposing the notion of aseptic perfection asserted by modern luxury, Environment’s furniture is not only well made and timeless, but designed to be lived in, enjoyed, and then passed on to the next generation. The company shares the Rough Luxe Movement’s values of authenticity, experience, rarity and outstanding quality, but brings the concept a step further by implementing the idea that sustainability should be a non-negotiable component of good living.
