ipCapital Group, Inc. (ipCG) is proud to announce that Bruce Bent ll, a proven manager, C.E.O. and experienced entrepreneur credited with creating some of the most innovative short-term asset management, cash and cash-related solutions for the broker-dealer, bank, qualified plan, and retail markets, has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor.
Mr. Bent has joined the ipCG Advisory Team to help clients meet the challenge of an increasingly competitive environment in which intellectual property is becoming a more powerful tool both offensively and defensively.
“Bruce brings to ipCG one of the industry’s most significant backgrounds in business method patents. His background as an experienced inventor, along with his rare financial strategy business insights, is very unique in IP thought leadership. Bruce is distinctly qualified to assist our clients in the growing need for innovation united with IP strategy”, said John Cronin, Managing Director and Chairman of ipCG.
Mr. Bent has over twenty years of experience as a successful entrepreneur in the financial services and asset management industry. Mr. Bent is an accomplished business strategist and inventor who brings practical hands-on business experience related to the intersection of financial services and intellectual property. During the past two decades he has developed a portfolio of over 30 patents on which he is named inventor. He is also recognized as a pioneer in the use of business method patents.
Mr. Bent has strong direct experience with patent prosecution, litigation and licensing. His background as an owner and operator of the Double Rock family of financial companies, which grew from $4 billion to $130 billion under his leadership, gives him unique insight into the practical side of business method patents. Departments that he has directly overseen include Operations, Information Technology, Product Development and Legal, all of which play a key role in innovation and IP.
According to Mr. Bent, "as both a current business owner and inventor I am very excited to be working with ipCG. Patents are not just the concern of manufacturing and technology companies anymore. Almost every type of company has something to gain or lose within the quickly expanding patent landscape. ipCG has excellent strategies for businesses to not only maximize the value of the patents they may already have, but also to capture their own inventions they may not even be aware of."
Mr. Bent holds a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy from Northeastern University, Boston, MA.
