Modern Maple Products and Tree Adoption are New at 2013 Summer Fancy Food Show

Tonewood Maple, a Vermont-based artisan maple purveyor is excited to join the Specialty Food Association’s 59th Annual Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City as a full-fledged exhibitor for the first time. Tonewood first debuted its products in the New Product Pavilion during the 2012 Summer Fancy Food Show and received an overwhelmingly positive response.

Tonewood’s Maple Wafers are a Finalist for Outstanding Confection in the 2013 sofi™ Awards (Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation Award) from the Specialty Food Association, and will be available for sampling at booth #4457. Additional forms of pure Vermont maple will also be showcased including maple cream, crunchy maple flakes, the maple cube, maple seasoning, and premium single-sourced syrups in all four grades: fancy, medium amber, dark amber, and grade B.

Tonewood is committed to celebrating maple’s natural flavor and under-realized versatility while redefining a standard for quality in maple products through collaboration with expert sugarmakers. Tonewood’s pure maple syrup and specialties are unblended, all natural and free of additives.

Tonewood will also display its trademark maple tree adoption program in booth #4457, which functions like a gourmet CSA. In Tonewood’s tree adoption program the adopter receives a series of three packages over the course of a year from the bounty of the adopted tree including a Four Grade Collection of syrup, Tonewood’s Sweet Pairing of maple wafers and a maple cube, and an adoption certificate and photo of the tree.

The maple tree adoption concept is a collaboration between Tonewood and artisanal maple producers in Vermont’s Mad River Valley in which each producer retains responsibility for the care and production of his product. The program provides financial support to multi-generational family owned Vermont sugarbushes and to climate change research efforts at the Proctor Maple Research Center at the University of Vermont through 1% for the Planet.
