Google has become renowned for its high profile internships. Local SEO and internet marketing company Everspark Interactive says the model is a must in the tech industry, and does many of the same things for its own interns.

We want them to feel we've truly started them out in their career.

Google is just as well known for its unique work environment and employee perks; as it is for its technology, and extends those perks to its interns – offering them full pay and extensive mentoring. Local internet marketing company Everspark Interactive applies the same model for its own interns, and says the model bears fruit in the form of talented new professionals.

Everspark, which has grown rapidly in recent years, focuses on SEO, or search engine optimization, rocketing clients' websites up through the search results so they're the first ones that potential customers find.

Everspark’s co-founder Jason Hennessey and the firm launched its intern program last year, seeking promising college students with a background in computers, business or math.

“It's about giving them attention from staff and executives who can teach them about the industry,” he said. “It's as much an apprenticeship as it is a job. We want them to feel we've truly started them out in their career.”

Everspark has acted as a partner with Google in the Google Engage series of networking events, and Hennessey says Everspark's internships setup closely mirrors Google's.

Hennessey said that past interns have already gone on to successful careers, and one has been hired full time by Everspark.
