HGH Infrared Systems' Spynel camera attracts mining clients.

HGH Infrared Systems, Inc. and STARA Technologies recently co-exhibited at the Elko Mining Expo in Elko, NV on June 6-7. HGH’s Infrared Systems Spynel system provides automated intrusion detection and tracking over 360 degrees at detection distances up to 6km for a human. Its fast frame rate and unique panoramic capabilities ensure powerful Wide Area Surveillance (WAS) through visual real-time night and day simultaneous visualization of an unlimited number targets over 360 degrees .

With recent raids on mines, and just this week the rebel raids on the Philex Gold Philippines mining site which resulted in 5 deaths, mining operations’ security comes back at the forefront of executives’ priorities. Protecting profitable materials, labor workers, and expensive machinery can be challenging over very large sites and harsh environments: being alerted of a threat as soon as possible becomes paramount in order to allow for prompt interception by security personnel. HGH’s Spynel can alert security staff if a person has entered the perimeter at up to 6km away, and a vehicle at up to 12km away.

At the Elko Mining Expo, attendees were impressed with the Spynel system as a live demonstration was performed during the whole duration of the show.

The Spynel system, was also successfully demonstrated last year to secure the perimeter of one of the largest gold mining sites in Africa.
