Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 26, 2013
Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM), maker of the Flex-Hone® tool and a full line of industrial brushes, is announcing lightweight tool holders for its NamPower abrasive disc brushes. By reducing tool holder weight, this latest innovation from BRM reduces machine spindle, ball bearing, and brush tool wear while promoting a more consistent cutting action for better brush performance and longer tool life.
NamPower Tool Holder Design
Lightweight NamPower tool holders are made of a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic that’s bonded to a hardened and ground steel shank. Designed for use with NamPower’s unique flow-through coolant system, these lightweight tool holders use the same 25-mm shank as the company’s regular tool holders for NamPower abrasive disc brushes.
As BRM’s How to Automate Deburring and Surface Finishing video explains, NamPower nylon abrasive brushes provide longer tool life. Unlike other coolant systems, NamPower technology allows lubrication to flow from the brush center instead of only from the outside. For high-volume parts manufacturers, the result is increased efficiency and reduced down-time from tool changes.
NamPower Tool Holder Specifications
BRM’s lightweight, patent-pending, flow-through tool holders are available for all sizes of NamPower abrasive disc brushes. Choose tool holders for NamPower brush tools with 100-mm, 125-mm, or 150-mm diameters and trim lengths of 18-mm or 38-mm. For maximum safe free speed (MSFS), grit sizes, and catalog numbers, download BRM’s free NamPower Lightweight Tool Holder brochure.
When ordering lightweight NamPower tool holders, note that the Dot style and Turbine brushes are listed separately. Dot style abrasive brushes are designed for general-purpose deburring and surface finishing. Turbine style abrasive disc brushes are recommended for medium and heavy-duty deburring applications.
