Sod distributor launches tool for families of Plano, Texas.

The Grass Outlet recently launched a sod grass estimator on its website to help its customers in Plano determine how much sod to purchase for their lawn.

The calculator, which the Plano sod grass company calls the Grasstimator, asks two questions to determine how many pallets of sod the customer will need for their lawn. First, users specify the shape of their lawn, given six different options, which include square, triangle, circle, parallelogram, trapezoid and combination. Next, the Grasstimator asks users to enter the yard’s dimensions in order to receive the most exact calculation possible.

As customers enter the dimensions of their yard, the Grasstimator tells the customer the square footage of their lawn and how many pallets of sod grass are needed to cover that space. Customers then have the opportunity to choose one of the ten varieties of grass offered by The Grass Outlet. All of the grass sold by The Grass Outlet comes from one of four families: Bermuda, Zoysia, St. Augustine or Buffalo. At this stage, visitors can also read about each type of grass to determine which variety would work best in their climate and with their needs.

If the visitor chooses a variety of grass, the calculator will determine a price quote and allow the customer to schedule a day to have the grass delivered to their lawn.
