Fauxtastic Iron™ is announcing the availability of environmentally friendly simulated wrought iron designs that help purify the air in residential homes. It is the only decorative simulated wrought iron company using a unique green technology to help improve indoor air quality. Each design is treated with a PCO (photocatalytic oxidation) spray that safely helps destroy VOCs (volatile organic compounds), noxious odors, bacteria, viruses, mold and fungal spores circulating in the indoor air.

"By acting as a permanent mini air purifier, Fauxtastic Iron designs add to the beauty of your home while contributing to a healthier environment," says Randy Ingram, co-owner of Fauxtastic Iron. "These affordable, easy-to-install pieces can be custom fit to any wall, ceiling, window, arch, doorway or other area that would benefit from the sophisticated look of wrought iron with the added feature of green technology."

The PCO coating contains TiO2, which was originally studied and used by NASA. It is odorless, non-toxic, chemical free and food safe. It is activated by sunlight or interior light, creating an electrostatically charged surface and, in turn, hydroxyl radicals or reactive oxygen. As the ambient indoor air comes into contact with the faux iron design, the hydroxyl radicals combine with and destroy VOCs, noxious odors and common indoor pollutants.

"We work directly with interior designers or homeowners who are interested in green design or in improving the air quality in their homes," adds Ingram. "In addition to countless styles, these unique designs are available in a number of colors."

The decorative designs are manufactured in the United States and are created from recycled, resin-reinforced wood composites. Styles range from classic European and romantic Mediterranean to modern geometric designs, and they can be customized to meet each client’s needs and preferences.
