Urban Bike Brand Connects with Local Community to Share the City Cyclist Experience

We want to share a unique, up front look at the personalities and places that ultimately influence our drive and design.

City bike company Brooklyn Cruiser today announced plans to collaborate with local ridership on a series of lifestyle profiles as part of the brand's Summer 2013 social media initiative. The program, called Bike & Tell, aims to share a variety of city cyclist experiences with the brand's friends, fans and followers all over the world.

Known for their stylish vintage-modern commuter bicycles, the urban bike outfit has tapped a roster of community influencers, creatives and business owners to participate. Lucky locals swap their usual bike for a Brooklyn Cruiser on short-term lend, document their experiences via social media components Twitter and Instagram, and submit to a Q and A offering insight on how being a part of the city cyclist and Brooklyn borough communities effects their daily life, creative process and lifestyle choices.

Recent profiles feature Brooklyn-based artist Emilie Lee, and Greenpointers.com contributor Yana Gilbuena. The series will continue through September via Brooklyn Cruiser's blog (http://www.brooklyncruiser.com/blog/). Real time updates are hashtagged #bkcruiser and #bikeandtell on Twitter and Instagram.

"While no two riders are alike, there's a real kinship within the bike lanes. People love to connect with others who share their interests and passions, and we love to connect with our community, so working with local ridership to tell their story is a real give-give relationship," said Ryan Zagata, Brooklyn Cruiser's President. "I've always said we're not just a bike brand, but also a lifestyle brand. We're also a Brooklyn brand, and we want to share a unique, up front look at the personalities and places that ultimately influence our drive and design," he added.
