We're hopeful that the jury's verdict will memorialize how unique and special Bailey was to her parents.

Sloan v. Redmond, case number CIVDS 1014398, filed in the San Bernardino County Superior Court is set for jury selection on July 1, 2013. “My clients have waited almost four years for this case to begin. We will likely have the jury selected by Tuesday, and we’ll start with opening statements after that”, said Attorney Stewart R. Albertson.
Albertson represents Michael Sloan and Rebecca McGuire, parents of Bailey E. Sloan, who was killed in a DUI crash on October 24, 2009. Mr. Sloan and Mrs. McGuire filed their civil suit (case number CIVDS 1014398) against defendant Cynthia A. Redmond in San Bernardino County Superior Court on October 19, 2010—almost one year after their daughter was killed.
Previously, in the criminal case, filed in San Bernardino County Superior Court under case number FSB-1000701, defendant Redmond pleaded not guilty for almost three years after the fatal crash. But then, in late August 2012, Redmond changed her plea to guilty and is now serving a six-year sentence in Chino.
“This is a sad case for everyone involved,” said Albertson. “You feel for my clients because they’ve lost their daughter forever. You also fell for the defendant who has ruined her life. But the defendant chose to drive her car while intoxicated. If she had not made that choice, Bailey would be alive today. Ultimately, we’re hopeful that the jury’s verdict will memorialize how unique and special Bailey was to her parents”, concluded Albertson.
