BoostSuite user data reveals surprising insights. Small business marketers who adjust their websites to comply with basic search engine guidelines increase website visitors by 214% and purchases by 146%.

BoostSuite today announced the results of a comprehensive study of small business websites and search engine best practices. Data was collected during the first six months of 2013 from over 6,000 small business websites tracked by BoostSuite.

Results show that even a small increase in compliance with search engine guidelines delivers huge improvements in web marketing results.

BoostSuite measures compliance with search engine best practices by analyzing website pages and assigning them with grades from F through A+. Sitewide optimization grades are then calculated for each website as a whole.

BoostSuite then walks users through a list of simple changes that their sites require to conform with search engine guidelines. In the analysis BoostSuite compared improvements to users’ website grades with increases in website visitors and marketing conversions.
