Seaborne Airlines Selects AvFinity® APIS Connect™ to Streamline Advance Passenger Information Filings

Seaborne Airlines uses APIS Connect™, the new AvFinity® service for filing passenger and crew manifests, to streamline its Advance Passenger Information Service (APIS) filings with government border agencies including U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Seaborne Airlines, headquartered at St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, has selected the AvFinity® APIS Connect™ service for managing its mandatory Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) filings with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and CARICOM.

Seaborne transports 175,000 passengers annually among various Caribbean Island destinations, including Puerto Rico, St. Croix and St. Thomas, all U.S. territories. Both USCBP and CARICOM’s Joint Regional Communications Centre (JRCC) require arriving and departing aircraft to file passenger and crew manifests as part of their respective APIS programs.

APIS Connect is a web browser-based service. It facilitates manifest filings into CARICOM, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), USCBP, and the United Kingdom’s e-Borders APIS programs. Airlines can upload tabular data from either comma-delimited or Microsoft Excel spreadsheets or directly input the data via the web browser.

APIS Connect became Seaborne’s choice for filing APIS because of the reliability and flexibility built into the service by AvFinity engineers.

AvFinity’s newly introduced APIS Connect service complements its platinum-level APIS Navigator™ service.

APIS Navigator manages high-volume, machine-to-machine APIS data and is used by large scheduled carriers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. APIS Connect manages lower volume, manually entered data either through the web browser interface or uploads from a spreadsheet.

That difference is all that separates the two services. Both APIS Connect and APIS Navigator provide airlines with the following valuable benefits through AvFinity’s patented software technology:
