In response to an article published on Malcovery, leading corporate security company, The Protective Group, comments on how corporate security as a whole will change in the coming years.

On June 27, leading corporate security company, The Protective Group, comments on an article published by Malcovery, which details the upcoming changes for corporate security and what effect these changes will have on security companies.

According to the article published on Malcovery, corporate security is heading down a road filled with many changes to the role of security for businesses. One of the most prominent changes to the role of corporate security will be an increase in the complexity of security.

Due to increased technological advances, the article says, “…76 percent of firms (are) expected to adopt a decentralized structure within the next two to three years,” the article says.

While decentralization helps employees and organizations, the increased use of social media, cloud computing, and mobile technology also opens up increased threats to security. The article says finding a balance between security and the flexibility of a system will be a major goal in the coming years.

Due to these new threats many companies are beginning to place a larger emphasis on corporate security. The article says a recent study found that “…60 percent of IT decision makers have identified ‘improving IT security’ as a primary objective.”

John Monderine, CEO of The Protective Group, says, “IT security is vital to a company. Protecting a business from malicious threats should always be a top priority. While increased social media usage and other forms of technology will create more threats, the increase in security technologies will be right there to combat these new threats.”

Monderine also says the influx of technology also means that people can find new ways to get around security precautions. “It’s always important to make sure you have the newest pieces of technology for corporate surveillance,” he says. “Criminals could use new gadgets to compromise cameras, so it’s imperative that companies update their systems with the best video cameras and security software.”
