On June 28, Bruce Graham, the owner of Long Island screen printing company East End Screen Printing, responds to an LA Times article about the creation of a fan-made t-shirt for the popular cult hit Arrested Development.
According to a June 3rd article published on LA Times, titled, "'Arrested Development' in joke inspires Showstealer Pro T-shirt," a new fan-made Arrested Development t-shirt is spreading like wildfire across the Internet with thousands already sold. The cult favorite Arrested Development was canceled on the Fox network after only 3 seasons, but has recently reemerged as a new, Netflix-only series, which was revealed in May.
Only a few hours after the show debuted on Netflix, fan Eric Striffler designed a t-shirt sporting an inside joke watermark from the series. According to the article, the reference is to the words that appear as a digital watermark on screen whenever brief clips from the show's original three seasons are used.
“Custom T-shirts are an easy and affordable way to spread a brand,” says East End Screen Printing owner Bruce Graham. “All it takes is a little creativity and a good idea, and in a few minutes its possible to create an original shirt to say whatever you want. Custom clothing allows people to express themselves, and in this case, spread a brand awareness with huge success.”
Fan-made t-shirts are becoming a popular trend as more and more websites are starting to pick up fan designs and rewarding their creativity, Graham says. The process has become easier in the past few years. Now, there are only a few steps between the customer and the final product. “Screen Printing companies like us are great ways to market a brand or promote anything at all,” Graham says.
