Carolina Farm Credit Employees Donate to Local Food Banks

Carolina Farm Credit employees donated over $1,600.00 and 125 pounds of food to local food banks as a result of an employee food drive conducted in cooperation with the NC Co-Op Council’s Early Harvest Food Drive, which encouraged cooperatives throughout NC to hold food drives to benefit their local food banks.

Carolina Farm Credit employees donated over $1,600.00 and 125 pounds of food to local food banks as a result of an employee food drive conducted during the month of May.

The food drive was in cooperation with the NC Co-Op Council’s Early Harvest Food Drive, which encouraged cooperatives throughout NC to hold food drives to benefit their local food banks. Employees were encouraged to donate $10 or 10 pounds of food and 30 out of 36 service centers met that goal. Proceeds were donated to local food banks chosen by each service center.

Carolina Farm Credit serves over 8,800 members with loans outstanding totaling more than $1.3 billion. The association’s territory covers the western half of North Carolina, with service centers located in Albemarle, Asheboro, Asheville, Boone, Browns Summit, Burnsville, Carthage, Concord, Ellerbe, Graham, Hendersonville, Hillsborough, Jefferson, Lenoir, Lexington, Lincolnton, Marshall, Mocksville, Monroe, Murphy, Newton, Pilot Mountain, Roxboro, Rural Hall, Salisbury, Shelby, Siler City, Sparta, Spindale, Statesville, Taylorsville, Wadesboro, Waynesville, Wilkesboro, Yadkinville, and Yanceyville.

Carolina Farm Credit was recognized as a 2013 Best Employer in North Carolina.
