EuroCheapo's new budget flights tool, powered by Momondo, shows results from low-cost carriers such as easyJet and Ryanair, and includes high-speed trains when they offer a compelling alternative to flying.

EuroCheapo.com (http://www.eurocheapo.com), the opinionated guide to budget hotels in Europe’s most popular cities, today announced the relaunch of its budget flights search engine, powered by Momondo.com (http://www.momondo.com).

The new budget flights tool (http://www.eurocheapo.com/flights/) shows airfares and times for European carriers, including low-cost airlines such as easyJet and Ryanair, which often go under the radar of American tourists.

Momondo, a flights meta-search site based in Copenhagen, provides these results by searching more than 700 websites for the best deals on flights between European destinations and between the United States and Europe.

“By incorporating real-time ticket prices for budget carriers like Ryanair, we believe that our budget flights finder just became much more powerful,” said Tom Meyers, editor and founder of EuroCheapo. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Momondo to offer this service.”

Noted Martin Lumbye, Board Director of Momondo, “EuroCheapo was already around when we launched Momondo back in 2006, and we have been following each other for a while. Because of EuroCheapo's strong emphasis on giving travelers the best deals in Europe, partnering seemed like an ideal fit.”

Furthermore, the tool incorporates more than 4,000 European high-speed rail lines into its results when they offer a compelling alternative to flying.

“Showing high-speed rail options is an exciting bonus,” Meyers added. “After all, certain routes, such as London to Paris, are often more convenient by train than by plane.”

Users may click from EuroCheapo’s search results through to purchase tickets directly on airline websites and on partnering reservation websites.

“We’ve always prided ourselves in showing our readers the best places to sleep on a budget,” Meyers said. “Now we can help them get there, and around Europe, affordably, as well.”
