Americans for Prosperity Foundation is proud to participate in National Employee Freedom Week from June 23 – 29, 2013 along with 55 coalition partners across the country. Founded by the Nevada Policy Research Institute, National Employee Freedom Week is an effort to educate workers about their right to keep more of their paycheck and opt-out of union membership.
“For too long, unions have benefited from workers being unaware of their rights,” said AFP Foundation President Tim Phillips. “By charging members who would opt-out if they were fully informed, unions take millions of dollars each year to push their big government agenda. AFP Foundation is dedicated to informing workers of their right to voluntarily leave a union to ensure that freedom of association is respected in the workplace.”
AFP Foundation chapters are engaged in outreach efforts across the country to give union members the knowledge to make an informed decision about their representation. In addition, the Foundation has published an instructional article explaining how and why union members can leave their union. The article is available online at http://www.AmericansForProsperityFoundation.com/Newsroom/Exercise-Your-Employee-Freedom
“Employees can save themselves at least $300 each year by leaving their union,” said Phillips. “It’s high time for employees to know all of the facts about their union rights.”
