In an effort to greatly expand custom fabrication capabilities and lower customer costs, Rotating Engineered Products (REP), Inc. has installed a new Messer PlateMaster HPR260XD HyPerformance Plasma System in their North Georgia production facility. REP additionally invested in a five ton bridge crane to complement the new PlateMaster system while also increasing productivity.

“As our customer needs continued to grow, we identified areas we could expand our facilities to offer even better solutions,” said REP, Inc. Owner and CEO Jim Hene. “This significant capital investment in the new plasma system and bridge crane will greatly increase our productivity and material cutting capacity.”

REP, Inc. welcomed the more than $250,000 investment to its facility—which turns out custom solutions ranging from positive displacement blower and vacuum pump noise enclosures to process skids and groundwater remediation systems—as it looks to continue delivering exceptional customer service and support. The new HPR260XD HyPerformance Plasma System will allow REP, Inc. to provide its clients with more innovative customizable solutions to their needs than was previously possible.

The PlateMaster increases the maximum cutting dimensions to 10 feet wide by 26.2 feet long, and utilizes three torches that enable the cutting of a variety of material thicknesses. The Hypertherm HPR260XD can cut 1 ½ inch thick mild steel or stainless steel with production cutting maintained at 1 ¼ inch thick, and aluminum cutting up to 1 inch thick.

The Hypertherm Powermax 1650 allows for continuous cutting over expanded or perforated metal, and can maintain a metal production cutting up to ½ inch thick. The Alfa Oxyfuel Cutting Torch can cut up to 2 inches thick mild steel. The PlateMaster can also be used to “mark” materials with part numbers, equipment locations, and other markings as necessary.

“Over the company’s twenty plus years of business we have been committed to investing in our production capabilities,” said Hene. “We will continue to create cutting-edge solutions backed by the best service in our industry.”
