Just last month I reached out to Michael Husted and other NCS Associates to support Kicking For The Dream; I didn’t expect the response to be so quick and enthusiastic. Billy Cundiff

In the last six weeks, 12 National Camp Series (NCS) Associates have joined Kicking For The Dream in its effort to fight ovarian cancer by raising awareness and money to support research for the early detection of, and advance treatment for, ovarian cancer, according to Kicking For The Dream Founder Billy Cundiff.
“Just last month I reached out to Michael Husted, who created the National Camp Series, in an effort to encourage NCS Associates to support Kicking For The Dream,” says Cundiff. “However, I didn’t expect the response to be so quick and enthusiastic.”

Husted says the National Camp Series (NCS) is a nationwide network of expert kicking coaches with NFL and College level playing experience. He says their goal is to provide effective instruction on the field and guidance off of the field that will allow student-athletes the ability to leverage their sport to get a college education.

Husted says he is happy to support Kicking For The Dream. He says it doesn’t surprise him so many of the NCS Associates have also decided to support the project as well.
“I'm really eager to help support Kicking For The Dream,” says Husted. “It is a great concept that any specialist can get involved with, at all levels. The National Camp Series is one hundred percent behind this program.”
NCS Associates who have joined the Kicking For The Dream effort include:
- Michael Husted of Husted Kicking
- Chris Shaw of KICKNATION
- Lee McDonald of Special Teams Solutions
- Mike Hollis of ProForm Kicking Academy
- Craig Hentrich of Legacy Kicking

Cundiff says he appreciates everything Husted and the NCS Associates are doing to help get Kicking For The Dream off the ground.
“I truly appreciate Michael’s enthusiastic support of this project,” says Cundiff. “And the support of all the NCS Associates have already signed on to the project.”
Cundiff says the goal of Kicking For The Dream, is to engage kicking specialists at every level to raise awareness, and money, for Colleen’s Dream Foundation. He says having the NCS Associates on board will help him ‘test’ the project over the next few months before he asks the general public to get behind the project.
He says the more people know about ovarian cancer, the more they want to help fight it.
Cundiff, who has been an NFL kicker for over 10 years for teams such as the Cowboys, Saints, Browns, Ravens and Redskins, recently lost his mother-in-law to ovarian cancer. He says ovarian cancer is often referred to as ‘the silent killer’ because many women do not discover their disease until it is in the late stages.
“Many women succumb to this disease within a short period of time, because unlike cervical or breast cancer, ovarian cancer does not have a standardized early detection procedure,” says Cundiff. “That is what happened to my mother-in-law, Colleen Drury.”
He says Kicking For The Dream will work directly with Colleen’s Dream Foundation to achieve this goal.
Colleen’s Dream Foundation started in 2012, as a result of his mother-in-laws’ battle with ovarian cancer. The Foundation supports research for early detection and improved treatment for ovarian cancer.
"My mother-in-law was diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer in 2007,” says Cundiff. “That experience made me – and my wife’s family - aware of a new world filled with invasive surgery, harsh chemotherapy, and lots of uncertainty.”
Cundiff says it was Colleen’s wish that a foundation be created to help other women facing the same situation she faced.
