Venuemob, an Australian based company, helps customers find function venues and has recently struck a major partnership with the on-demand chauffeur car service, Uber.

This partnership with Uber is a great step for us and a way to provide even more value to anyone looking for venues for an event.

6 months following their round of funding led by Optus Innov8, Venuemob, a Melbourne based company that helps people find function venues, has struck a major partnership with the on-demand chauffeur car service, Uber. The partnership begins Venuemob’s customer incentives program, just as the end of financial year period kicks off a frenzy of activity from party planners and event organisers.

“A large number of corporate companies are looking for events during this period, and it’s quite tough to find a really impressive space that fits within the budget, size and other requirements,” says David Wei, the CEO of Venuemob. “The idea for Venuemob is to help people who are looking to organise events. This partnership with Uber is a great step for us and a way to provide even more value to anyone looking for venues for an event.”

Uber is a smartphone app that connects customers to the nearest available chauffeur driven car. Uber was founded in 2010 and recently expanded to Melbourne and Sydney. The company has attracted over US$40m in venture capital funding. As part of the deal, Uber will offer free rides (up to $40) to new Uber riders who visit Venuemob to book one of their 1,200 profiled function rooms in Melbourne and Sydney. This means that event guests have another transport choice for travel to and from their venue.

"Uber is a perfect partner for Venuemob’s event managers. Our technology takes care of the transport problem so event managers and guests don’t have to stress about it. At this time of year, employees across Australia are letting their hair down at end of financial year parties. Uber connects guests with a chauffeur driven car at the touch of a button, ready to whisk them to or from the party safely in style and comfort." - Tim Webster, Uber
