"Soccer players are especially vulnerable to knee injuries and knee pain. We see that firsthand everyday as we provide the Kneehab device to injured athletes," said Sara Oxton, Neurotech International Product Marketing Manager.

Neurotech NA, a Minneapolis-based market leader in rehabilitation orthopedic and pain management devices, has announced corporate sponsorship for the Major League Soccer Team Physician Society. The MLS Physician Society comprises team physicians from the 19 Major League Soccer teams in North America.

"Soccer players are especially vulnerable to knee injuries and knee pain. We see that firsthand everyday as we provide the Kneehab device to injured athletes," said Sara Oxton, International Product Marketing Manager for Neurotech. "We believe our partnership with the MLS Team Physician Society will help drive awareness of these injuries along with development of best-in-class treatment protocols."

Introduced to the US market in early 2010, the Kneehab XP Quadriceps Therapy System is used as an adjunctive therapy device for people suffering from injuries or degenerative conditions of the knee. The device is also available in Europe where it has been used by Phil Jones (Manchester United) and David Fevre, Head of Sports Medicine for the Blackburn Rovers Football Club, among others, to successfully rehabilitate knee injuries among soccer players.

The MLS Physician Society was founded in 2004, creating an organization dedicated to excellence in the medical and surgical care of the soccer athlete. The Society works in collaboration with the Professional Soccer Athletic Trainers’ Society and other medical organizations to promote research, education, and the development of guidelines for "best clinical practices" that optimize athletic performance, prevent injury, and enhance the overall treatment of soccer athletes at all levels, from the professional to the recreational athlete (http://www.mlsteamdocs.com).
