Following a number of top seed exits from this year's Wimbledon Championships, Andy Murray is in with a very good chance of claiming his first ever Wimbledon title.
Andy Murray takes on Tommy Robredo, the number 29th seed, on Centre Court this afternoon at the All England Club, SW19. Nicolás Almagro, ranked 11th in the world, remains the only top 20 player on the Scot's side of the draw so fans are confident the world number three will make it to the Wimbledon final next Sunday, July 7th.
It is likely that Murray will face world number one, Novak Djokovic, if he does reach next weekend's final. Andy Murray will be looking for a repeat performance of last year’s US Open Final triumph – his first ever Grand Slam title.
As Murray progresses to the next stage of the tournament, the prices of tickets are being driven up due to overwhelming public demand.
The early exit for top seeds including Rafael Nadal, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and defending champion Roger Federer has resulted in Murray’s odds being slashed dramatically and a dramatic increase in Wimbledon ticket sales.
Meanwhile, on the women’s side of the draw, Laura Robson progressed to the third round after beating Mariana Duque-Marino. The British number one Laura Robson is into the third round of Wimbledon for the first time thanks to a comfortable 6-4 6-1 win over the Colombian.
Wimbledon tickets are still available for all remaining days of the Tennis Championships at the All England Club from the Telegraph Tickets (http://tickets.telegraph.co.uk/wimbledon-tickets/) comparison service.
