'I have seen great things for women in this industry and see great things ahead,' Kerissa Payne said.

RE/MAX® Legacy Broker/Owner and REALTOR®, Kerissa Payne is slated to be a Governor for The Women’s Council of REALTORS® Texas Chapter in 2014.

Payne currently serves as the President of The Tyler Chapter of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, but is excited for the expanding role and responsibility she is having in the REALTOR® community in not only Eastern Texas, but the entire state. “The continued confidence in my abilities as a woman to serve in the real estate community is both encouraging and exciting,” said Payne. “I have seen great things for women in this industry and see great things ahead,” she said.

The mission of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® is to empower women to exercise their potential as entrepreneurs and industry leaders. According to the Women’s Council REALTORS® Texas Chapter’s website, as members they commit to use their influence as women and successful business professionals to effect positive change in the profession and in the broader community. These values are something that Payne has demonstrated in her professional life. Payne has been an active member in various community groups and boards for several years finding ways to help empower women and add positive contributions to different organizations. According to Payne, “I love being involved in the community and believe in the value that each person can contribute to a positive and growing economy. Even the smallest contributions matter.”

Payne, who recently expanded her own business, has been a practicing REALTOR® since 2008 in East Texas most of her life. Payne built her own agency into one of the foremost agencies in the area.
